John flicked absentmindedly through the morning paper, his eyes skimming over the photos and headlines but unable to make his brain focus long enough to read an entire article. The music started quietly and slowly, it echoed through the air like chimes. Ellen tried to make out shapes, but her eyes could only see swirls of light and color. There were only a few at first, small dots of color that glowed. They hovered in the air at different heights, swaying to the music.  The music gained speed and volume. Ellen did not recognize the instruments being played, but it was the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. More and more lights began to appear around her.
